My uncle working in his shop.
In El Hussein, a touristic area in Cairo, I spotted this old man. He was walking slowly, but I wasn't fast enough to capture a better shot (I feel bad I couldn't show his feet It's sad we sometimes go by indifferent to others' sufferings as if they do not exist..
Mohammed is an Egyptian kid from Gezeret el Dahab (Gold island), a small island in the Nile, more like a village in the heart of the city. He's such a sweet boy with big dreams. He was so full of life, so happy and so friendlly
I was born in Cairo, but I grew up in the country in a little town in the Nile Delta. I spent several summer vacations in the home village of my mother and in Cairo at my aunt's. There were few summers I spent at an aunt's in another village where I helped with farming lol ( you can say I'm a villager who was aware of City life I went to college and majored in English Literature. After graduation, I worked as an English Teacher for first and fifth grades. It was so much fun and I loved the kids, but I knew there was more I can do, so I moved to Cairo 4 years ago and found a job in a foreign company where I work now as an HR Specialist/ IT Recruiter and I'm a team lead of 3 people. Over the last few years I wrote and published some short stories, most of them were light and funny onezz. I also did stand up comedy routines; and took up photography as a hobby I love so much. Life in the city is easy for me now. I made more friends and found ways to deal with wet blankets I live in the city, but I'm a village girl to the core and I'm so proud of it.
